Fall Ground Cover
Along
the north shore of Lake Superior between the Sawtooth range and the
rugged shoreline, grows the forest of aspen and birch. In the fall
there are small hidden patches of ground cover that turns a brilliant
red in contrast to the white tree trunks.

Fields
of daisies in the early morning dew prompted me to take a closer look.

Caribou Lake
From
the top of a hill after a short, but strenuous hike, the evening sun

Far
off of the main road, we found this creek tumbling over the rocks
before it headed under the road on its way to the Lake.

Yellow Lake Slippers
The
state parks of the North Shore are filled with amazing flowers if
you take the time to hike and look. These were located in Jay Cooke
State Park.

Early
morning light caused me to notice a lone yellow birch leaf resting
near the water and I thought it represented the heart of the North
Shore image

Mother Nature's Question
As
we walked along the frozen shore that was melting in the early spring
sun, I spotted this unique pattern in the snow and I couldn't help
but to marvel in natures mystery.

Cascade, lower falls
Near
the Canadian border the Cascade River heads to Lake Superior by dropping
over 3 unique falls This is the lower and last falls before it reaches
the Lake.

Lupine Field
Near
Gooseberry Falls State Park during the summer of 2004, a usually beautiful
array of wild lupine fill the road ditches along Hwy 61

Gooseberry Falls
Two
of the cascades of the Gooseberry River as it heads to lake Superior.

Beaver River Falls
Just
outside of the town of Beaver Bay, about 50 miles north of Duluth
is the Beaver River. Here you can see it make the last major drop
just before it reaches Lake Superior.
